Flower of Reed Plains
When the land of Japan was formed, many reeds grew in the rivers and lakes, providing a habitat for many living creatures. Perhaps the land of Japan in Genesis was nurtured by their blessings.
The "Land of Reed Plains" described in the Kojiki was born from such scenery.
Subtropical plants from all over the world grow in architect Tadao Ando's greenhouse. At the flower ceremony, the jungle-like chaos of the greenhouse is likened to the modern-day Land of Reed Plains, and flowers are arranged on a white altar.
The hope is to give birth to the breath of life.
