About the event

  • What is the "Awaji Flower Expo 25th Anniversary Flower Festival2025"?

    Celebrating 25 years since the international horticulture and landscape gardening expo "Japan Flora 2000" (Awaji Flower Expo) was held in 2000, the event will have the theme of "Living with Nature, Connecting Lives on Awaji Island." The aim is to pass on and develop the sustainable coexistence of people and nature that has been cultivated and accumulated so far as a legacy to the next generation, particularly young people and Generation Z who will carry the future, and to use the opportunity of the Expo to effectively promote the charms of Awaji Island both domestically and internationally through various exhibitions and events.

  • When is the event held?

    The period is 39 days from Thursday, March 20th, 2025 (national holiday) to Sunday, April 27th, 2025.

About the venue

  • Where is the fair located?

    The event will be held across the entire island of Awaji.
    The main venues are:
    - Awaji venue (Akashi Kaikyo National Government Park and Awaji Yumebutai)
    - Sumoto venue (Sumoto city center)
    - Minami Awaji venue (Awaji Farm Park England Hill)
    The satellite venues are:
    - Tourist facilities on the island, etc. (Click here for details on each satellite venue)

  • How much is the admission price?

    Admission to the Flower and Greenery Fair is free. However, for some paid facilities and events, admission and participation fees are required.
    ●Examples of paid facilities

    Adults (15 years and older) 450 yen
    Seniors (65 years and older) 210 yen
    *You will need to show identification showing your date of birth.
    Junior high school students and younger: Free

    [Awaji Yumebutai Koen Greenhouse "Awaji Green Hall"]
    Adults 750 yen
    Seniors (70 years and older) 370 yen
    *You will need to show identification showing your date of birth.
    Disability certificate holders: 180 yen (one caregiver free)
    *Identification by presenting disability certificate or presenting disability certificate information via smartphone app [Mirairo ID]
    High school students and younger: Free

    【Awaji Farm Park - England Hill】
    Adults (high school students and older): 1,200 yen
    Children (ages 4 to junior high school): 400 yen

  • Are there coin lockers at the main venue?

    Lockers will be located at the following locations in each venue. However, please note that the number is limited.

  • Are strollers and wheelchairs available for loan at the main venue?

    ●Awaji Venue
    They are available for rental at the Awaji Gate and Higashiura Gate. For details, please see below.

  • Can I bring pets to the venue?

    ●Awaji Venue
    (Akashi Kaikyo National Government Park)
    Pets are allowed in the park, but there are some prohibited areas (indoor facilities, Yume Hatch, Swan Boat, inside Hanayashiki Restaurant (terrace seating allowed)).

    Pets are only allowed on the terrace walkways and garden paths.

    ●Sumoto Venue
    Pets can be brought to Sumoto Civic Square, Ohama Park, Sumoto Castle Ruins, etc.

    ●Minami Awaji Venue
    Pets are not allowed in the park.

  • Is there a place to eat at the main venue?

    In addition to the permanent restaurants at each venue, we plan to set up food trucks and other stalls mainly on weekends and holidays.

  • Is there parking at the main venue?

    Parking lots are available at each facility, but as parking lots are expected to be crowded, especially on weekends and holidays, we ask that you use public transportation whenever possible. For more information, please see the Venue Guide.

  • Could you tell me about transportation on the island?

    When traveling around the island, if you are using public transportation, please use the bus transfer search app "busmo" to search for bus routes to and from Awaji Island. If you are traveling by car, please see the access page.

  • How can I get to the satellite venue? Is there parking?

  • When is the best time to see the flowers?

    ● Awaji Venue
    The best time to see spring flowers in Akashi Kaikyo National Government Park is as follows.

    Viola: Early December to late April
    Cherry Blossoms: Early March to late April
    Tulips: Mid-March to mid-April
    Calendula: Mid-March to mid-May
    Rhodanthe: Mid-March to mid-May

    Ranunculus: Late March to mid-May
    Livingstone Daisy: Early April to early May

     

    ●Sumoto Venue
    In the city, you can enjoy the cherry blossoms at Magadayama Park and the ruins of Sumoto Castle. Also, Iwashimizu Park, known as a famous plum blossom spot, is a hidden plum blossom spot.
    At the satellite venue, the Ono Nanohana Maze, the contrast between the blue sky and the yellow of the nanohana fields that spread out as far as the eye can see on a sunny day when they are in full bloom is very photogenic.
