55 Inohanadani Forest Park Campsite

This park, with plum trees as its main tree, was created to preserve the memory of the disaster caused by Typhoon 23, which struck Sumoto City in 2004. Located at the foot of Inohana Castle, this vast park is rich in nature, with a plum blossom garden zone, grassland zone, forest zone, and river play zone. You can relax with your pet and enjoy the mountain plants and the calls of many birds. Campers can enjoy the Goemon bath experience, mountain hut sauna experience, and open-air bath experience while watching the flow of the river. Parking (20 cars) and hot showers are available. -

Wellness Park Goshiki is a park built to honor the great pioneer Takadaya Kahei, born in Goshiki-cho, Sumoto City, and to pass on his story to future generations. The vast park has a museum showcasing the achievements of Takadaya Kahei, as well as a public lodging facility, restaurants, log houses, a campsite, tennis courts, hot springs, an experience workshop, an orchid greenhouse, and many other facilities that you can enjoy all day long. -

58 Setonaikai National Park, Iwashimizu Park

A national park on the southeastern tip of Awaji Island. Nearby are the remains of a battery built in 1863, and brick remains can be seen in the forest. From here you can get a panoramic view of Osaka Bay and the Kitan Straits, with Osaka in the distance and the city of Wakayama in front. -
59 Ono district rapeseed flower field
Sumoto City
Farmers in the Ono area who support Sumoto City's resource recycling eco-project grow rapeseed flowers to extract oil. The seeds are turned into rapeseed oil, the pressed pomace is used as fertilizer, and the used oil is reused as BDF fuel, making this an environmentally and scenic initiative. Every year, the "Rape Flower Festival" and "Rape Flower Maze" are held, and the cheers of children echo through the air. The rape flower field, which covers an area of over 5 hectares, is a spectacular sight. Scheduled to be held from 10:00 to 16:00, Sunday, March 23rd to Sunday, April 6th, 2025. -

In March, the fallow fields scattered throughout Goshiki Town are suddenly filled with the Nanohana flowers that Takadaya Kahei loved his whole life, and they paint the whole area yellow. In autumn, three very rare Trumpet Butterflies at the site of Takadaya Kahei's residence turn golden yellow. Trumpet Butterflies have leaves that are rolled up into a trumpet shape, making up 2% of the total. They are very rare, with only about 30 confirmed in the entire country. ~Takadaya Kahei and the novel "Rapeseed Flowers Offshore"~ A merchant from the late Edo period. He started out as a sailor, established a shipping business, and played an active role in the development of Ezo and in private diplomacy between Japan and Russia. His turbulent life is chronicled in the novel "Rapeseed Flowers Offshore" by Ryotaro Shiba. -
61 Senzan Senkoji Temple

Senkoji Temple is built on the summit of Mt. Sakiyama, also known as Awaji Fuji, and is the first temple of the Awaji Island Thirteen Buddhas Pilgrimage. The temple grounds include the main hall, a three-story pagoda (a cultural property of Sumoto City), a temple bell (an important cultural property), and a Niomon gate, and the view from the stage is a scenic spot that is counted among the "Eight Views of Sumoto." -

This uninhabited island lies in the southern part of Sumoto City, protecting the downtown area of Yura. It is also known as "Awaji Hashidate" due to the sandbar that stretches for about 2 kilometers.
